Topic: Calgary Municipal Land Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary tasked with the mandate to revitalize the Rivers District – a 504 acre parcel of land on the east side of Calgary that has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past 12 years. Starting with East Village, CMLC has stewarded the delivery of the community master plan and has invested over $396 million in infrastructure and place-making programs that has attracted nearly $3 billion in planned, private investment. With momentum underway in East Village, CMLC is has expanded its focus to the developed of the southern half of the Rivers District with the master plan delivery for Calgary’s emerging Culture and Entertainment District in east Victoria Park. This presentation will look at the master plan delivery driving this progress and the projects CMLC is leading today.
