Trade Show and Women in ASHRAE wine tasting this month

Happy Spring to all! Well deserved after a deeply cold winter and challenging construction economy.

Thank you to everyone who came to our recent dinner meetings. March’s dinner meeting was an unusually riveting and provocative experience for ASHRAE meetings, with a one-man play by Distinguished Lecturer Devin Abellon. February’s meeting was a talk on refrigerant codes by our own Distinguished Lecturer Greg Scrivener, that fits right in with the topic of ASHRAE’s yearly webinar on April 17th and 18th: The Future of Refrigerants: Unitary and VRF Systems. If you would like to host a viewing party and open it to the membership, the chapter will offer to buy pizza. Please talk to me.

And the January tour of the New Central Library was our best attended all year. Thank you to Dialog for leading the tours of this truly inspiring building.

SAC ASHRAE has two special events this month that I would like to make you all aware of. First, our first Women in ASHRAE event will be this Thursday. This casual wine tasting evening is intended to get women in the industry to connect more and thus be more active in the chapter and the HVAC community. Men who support women are also encouraged to attend. Contact Lauren Neves or myself to learn more.

Second, we will have our first HVAC trade show in many years on April 23rd at the Glenmore Inn. Kevin McIntyre has been working tirelessly to set it up with 30 vendor booths and 6 seminars. Completely free to attend. Check out the events page for more info.

Our traditional Lobsterfest and Golf tournament will round out the year. Look for sign-ups for those in the near future.
